$62.6 million - Amount of supplemental funds the Department of Defense requested Monday from Congress.

72 - Percentage of Americans who believe that using military force in Iraq was the right thing to do, according to a study by Pew Research Center.

1,000 - The estimated  U.S. paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade who parachuted into Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq Wednesday to seize an airfield.

3,500 - Estimated Iraqi POWs held by coalition forces.
