James Ross attempts title of "the marathon man who left no continent behind."
A crowd of Wave supporters cheered on Saturday, as the No. 6-ranked Pepperdine’s men’s water polo team (8-3) defeated No. 4 Cal Berkley (6-3), with the final score at 7-5. In a game of lesser magnitude, the Waves also romped unranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (2-7) on Friday, 19-1.
It was a roller coaster of a weekend for the Pepperdine women’s soccer team, as the Waves jumped all over Idaho State, 6-0, on Friday at home before suffering a 2-1 loss at UC Irvine on Sunday. The victory against Idaho marked Pepperdine’s highest scoring game since Sept. 5, 2003, when the Waves (4-5-2) defeated San Jose State, 7-0.
The Pepperdine men’s golf team headed to New Mexico last week, attempting to defend its title at the William Tucker Intercollegiate, but it finished in third place at the University of New Mexico Championship Course in Albuquerque. The Waves shot an even par total of 864, finishing one shot behind host University of New Mexico and 12 shots behind tournament winner, UNLV.

Like peanut butter and jelly or Batman and Robin, so are juniors John Collett and Greg Lee. These two have combined to become the voice of Pepperdine sports: announcing games to fans, giving play-by-play analysis over radio and television, as well as co-producing Pepperdine’s Sports Report.
The Pepperdine men's and women’s cross country team raced to the finish line at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, with the lady Waves placing 13th out of 33 schools and the men finishing 20th among 28 schools.
